Overview:

Machine Operative

Humdinger, Heckington, NG34 9JH

Looking for a hands-on manufacturing role where you can learn specialist machinery, develop your skills and play a key part in food production?

We're looking for a Machine Operator to join our team in Heckington. You'll operate automated processing equipment, ensure products meet quality standards, and help deliver production plans safely, efficiently and on time.

Shift: 3 on, 4 off covering Monday-Saturday (Blocks of Monday-Wednesday for 4 weeks followed by Thursday-Saturday for 4 weeks) 12-hour shifts, 18:00 - 06:00
Breaks: 3 x paid 20 minutes

Pay Rate: £16.14 per hour

Closing Date: 27/07/2026

Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor automated processing machinery.
Deliver production plans safely, accurately and efficiently.
Complete production documentation and system transactions accurately.
Support product quality through a right-first-time approach.
Identify and report safety, quality or performance issues.
Work flexibly across processing areas to support operational needs.

Qualifications:

An understanding of food safety - prior training such as Food Safety Level 2 will be beneficial, however, you will also receive this training via Humdinger
Formal basic Mechanical appreciation or an interest in machinery
Good oral and written communication skills are required and paperwork to be completed and signed off where necessary.
Experience within a factory environment such as Production Operative; Line Leader; Machine Operative; General Operative; Machine Minder; Line Technician
