Full job description

We are seeking a highly organised and experienced Bookkeeper / Accounts Administrator to support a private business office on a part-time basis with flexible working hours to suit the right candidate.

This role would particularly suit a reliable and professional individual with many years of bookkeeping and accounts experience, including candidates who may be semi-retired and looking for a flexible, long-term position. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, a discreet and confidential approach to their work, and the ability to work independently. The role will also include occasional ad hoc PA support to the business owner as required.

The position is primarily remote, allowing you to work comfortably from home while maintaining regular communication and efficient administration support.

Key Responsibilities

Day-to-day bookkeeping and account management
Managing invoices, payments, and reconciliations
General accounts administration
Handling email correspondence and electronic records
Maintaining accurate financial documentation
Liaising with accountants and other professional contacts when required
Providing ad hoc PA and administrative support to the business owner when needed.

Requirements

Extensive experience in bookkeeping and accounts
Strong computer literacy and confidence using email and office software
Ability to work effectively and independently from home
Excellent organisational skills
High level of professionalism and discretion
Trustworthy, dependable, and self-motivated
Ability to manage confidential information appropriately
Candidates should be based in the Bournemouth / Wimborne area or within a reasonable commuting distance, as occasional meetings at the head office may be required

Position Details

Part-time remote role with flexible hours and working arrangements
Primarily work-from-home position
Approximately 3 days per week
Occasional attendance at the Bournemouth head office for meetings when required
Hours can be tailored around the right candidate’s availability
