Finance Assistant

The Portland Hospital

Full time 37.5 hours per week

Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm

We’re looking for a Finance Assistant to join our finance team based at The Portland Hospital. Sitting within a busy and collaborative environment, this role plays an important part in supporting the financial operations that underpin one of the UK’s leading private hospitals. You’ll be joining a close knit team where accuracy, teamwork and a shared commitment to high standards are at the heart of everything we do.

This is a role where you can build strong foundations in finance while gaining meaningful exposure across the wider business. Working closely with the Management Accountant and engaging with senior stakeholders, you’ll develop a clear understanding of how financial insight supports decision making in a healthcare setting. Your day to day work will span reporting, financial processing and month end support, giving you a well rounded experience and the opportunity to grow your confidence and capability over time.

What you’ll do:

Support the preparation of daily and monthly financial reports and productivity reporting
Manage invoice coding and processing within the accounts payable system, ensuring timely approvals
Assist with prepayments, accruals and month end procedures
Maintain accurate financial records and support balance sheet reconciliations
Provide ad hoc administrative and financial support, working closely with senior stakeholders

What you’ll bring:

Previous experience in a finance or accounts assistant role
Strong numerical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Excellent organisation skills with the ability to meet deadlines
A proactive approach with a desire to learn, develop and study towards ACCA or CIMA
