Job Overview
Looking for someone 10am to 2pm Monday to Friday

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook / Cafe Assistant to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving food in a friendly café environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and customer service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy setting. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive team while contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of food items according to menu specifications and health standards
Assist with meal preparation, ensuring quality and presentation meet company standards
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces
Serve customers efficiently, taking orders and providing friendly assistance
Follow food safety procedures at all times to ensure compliance with regulations
Restock supplies as needed, including ingredients, utensils, and disposables
Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operation of the café
Assist with opening and closing duties as required

Experience

Previous experience in food preparation or cooking within a café, restaurant, or similar environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices is advantageous
Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy is preferred
Familiarity with kitchen equipment and meal assembly processes will be beneficial
A genuine interest in culinary arts and delivering excellent customer service is essential for success in this role

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £12.71-£12.72 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
