The Cherries is located in Folkestone, in Kent. It offers residential support for six autistic males and females. We are located on a quiet street, near the town centre.

As part of our dedicated and compassionate team, you’ll play a key role in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. While this isn’t a direct care role, your work makes a real difference to the wellbeing of our residents and staff – creating a safe, comfortable, and homely environment for everyone.
What you’ll be doing:
- Every day will be varied, drawing on your multi-skills to:
- Carry out general maintenance, repairs, and DIY tasks.
- Keep our sites safe, well-presented, and welcoming.
- Tackle jobs from painting, decorating, and wallpapering through to plumbing (fixing leaks, changing taps) and putting up furniture.
- Spot and report any issues that need attention and take action to put things right.
- Work alongside a supportive team to make sure everything meets quality and safety standards.
You may also be required to travel to other local homes in the area to carry out Maintenance work if required.
Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.
We’re after someone who is:
- Practical, hands-on, and confident with general DIY.
- Skilled across a mix of areas such as painting, decorating, carpentry, plumbing, or general repairs.
- Organised and detail-focused, with the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Happy to work independently but also a great team player.
- Friendly, approachable, and motivated by making a positive difference.
