Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Day Nursery Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and fostering a nurturing environment. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on young lives while ensuring the smooth running of the nursery. Applicants should have relevant childcare experience, preferably within a nursery setting, and hold qualifications in early childhood education. A valid driving licence is desirable for this position.

Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
Lead, motivate, and supervise nursery staff to deliver high-quality childcare and education programmes
Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that promote children's development and learning
Maintain effective communication with parents, carers, and external agencies to support children's well-being
Oversee staff recruitment, training, and performance appraisals to ensure a competent team
Monitor health and safety procedures within the nursery to provide a safe environment for children and staff
Organise rotas, manage resources, and ensure the nursery is well-maintained and organised
Keep accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and other administrative duties as required
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency

Qualifications

Proven experience in childcare or nursery management, with a strong understanding of early childhood development principles
Relevant qualifications in early childhood education or childcare management (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
Demonstrable management and leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Working knowledge of current childcare legislation and safeguarding policies
Ability to work effectively with children of various ages and backgrounds
Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate operational requirements or community engagement activities
