Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our healthcare team at Southbourne Pharmacy, Emsworth. The successful candidate will play a vital role in accurately dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care, and supporting pharmacy operations. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their career within the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. Prior pharmacy technician experience and knowledge of medication administration are highly desirable.

Duties

Accurately dispense prescribed medications in accordance with healthcare regulations and pharmacy protocols
Assist pharmacists in preparing and organising medication orders
Provide guidance to patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and storage instructions
Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and patient interactions
Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reordering supplies as needed
Ensure the pharmacy environment adheres to health and safety standards
Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing prescriptions
Contribute to delivering compassionate patient care by addressing queries and offering support where appropriate

Qualifications

Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role is preferred
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to prevent errors
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
A recognised qualification in pharmacy services or related field is advantageous but not essential
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations
