Sunflowers Out of School Care and Holiday Club is a small business in Worcester. We are professional, fun and child-led. Providing incredible experiences for children ages 3+

Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Assistant to join our team in providing care and support to children with special needs, including autism. The role involves assisting in activities and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children with special needs. The role is a 1:1 position with a child that day to support their play in our main room with all of our children, to work based on their child’s needs and interests, whether that’s playing in the garden or going upstairs to our sensory room for regulation and relaxation.

Responsibilities:- Provide care and support to children with autism, ADHD, PDA, anxiety and other special needs- Assist in implementing routines tailored to individual needs- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues- Support the senior staff in creating a structured and inclusive play environment- Help in managing challenging behaviours and providing emotional support- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children under your care.

Experience:- Previous experience working with children with autism or special educational needs is essential- Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, and colleagues- Knowledge of special education practices and techniques- Experience in educating children with diverse learning requirements is advantageous- A compassionate approach towards supporting children with special needs

Looking for:

4 hours per day up to 10 hours (8-6) in the Summer Holidays and every holiday moving forward if wanted. Completely flexible.

Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
