Full job description

Join Padley & Venables, a world-renowned leader in the manufacturing of rock drilling, demolition equipment and contractor’s tools. With a global customer base and a reputation for excellence, we are looking for a precision-focused Experienced Trained Inspector to join our Quality Team.

Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring every component leaving our facility meets the high-quality standards our customers expect.

The Role

You will be responsible for intermediate and final inspections of a wide range of components. Key duties include:

First-Off Inspection: Verifying the initial parts following setup.
Final Inspection: Ensuring compliance with customer specifications before dispatch.
Technical Compliance: Reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings.
Precision Measurement: Utilising a range of equipment including micrometers, Verniers, DTI’s, Shadowgraph, VICIVISION etc.

What We’re Looking For

Background: Essential experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Training: Must be trained (ideally as an apprentice, but not essential) with a strong mechanical aptitude.
Skills: Ability to use varied measuring equipment; experience with a Shadowgraph is a distinct advantage.
Reliability: Comfortable with early starts and a desire to work within a high-output team.
