Community Support Worker – Community Based Only (Must Have Own Car & Business Insurance)Overview

We are seeking compassionate and reliable Community Support Workers to provide essential support to individuals within their local communities. This role focuses solely on community-based support, helping clients access activities, appointments, and meaningful routines outside their homes. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for empowering others, strong communication skills, and experience supporting individuals with mental health needs, disabilities, or social care requirements.

This paid position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives while developing valuable skills within the social care sector.

Responsibilities

Support clients to access the community safely, including attending appointments, social activities, shopping, and wellbeing-based outings.
Encourage independence, confidence, and positive routines through person‑centred support.
Provide emotional support, reassurance, and practical guidance tailored to each client’s needs.
Use behaviour management and de‑escalation strategies where appropriate.
Maintain professional boundaries while building positive, supportive relationships.
Drive clients to and from community activities using your own vehicle, ensuring safe driving practices at all times.
Keep accurate records of support provided and report any concerns or changes in client wellbeing.
Work collaboratively with supervising staff and follow agreed support plans.

Requirements

Prior experience in community support, mental health, disability support, or similar roles is highly desirable.
Understanding of behaviour management, mental health conditions, and person‑centred practice.
Must have your own car and valid business insurance, as transporting clients is essential to the role.
Valid driving licence and clean driving record.
Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, non‑judgemental approach.
Ability to work independently while following support plans accurately.
Flexibility to work varied shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
