We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated person to join our UKAS accredited laboratory team based in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester as trainee Soil and Construction Materials Technician.

About the role:

You will:

Undertake testing of soil and construction materials mainly on constructions sites throughout the North West of England but will sometimes be required to work in the laboratory adhering to a UKAS accredited Quality System.

About you:

We're looking for dynamic and motivated individual with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

You should be communicative, organised, flexible and committed, you must also have:

Good basic mathematical and literacy skills

The ability to work using your common sense and initiative

a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Current, preferably clean UK driving licence

CSCS card

Salary: From £25000 per year

Hours: 8.30am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday, plus rota for overtime on Saturdays, currently one in seven (37.5 hour week minimum, plus overtime)

You may be required to start and finish at different times, so flexibility is a requirement

UKAS Accredited Laboratory
Our UKAS accredited laboratory is located within our Manchester offices. Its facilities and expertise however are readily available to both locations for speedy, efficient laboratory testing, analysis, interpretive reporting and technical advice.

Working closely with our clients, either on site or within our laboratory, we are able to confirm the suitability or otherwise of soils, aggregates, concrete, ‘blacktop’ bituminous products, un-bound and hydraulically bound mixtures, lime/cement stabilization plus of course all manner of other construction materials and ground conditions.
