Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals in need, including those with dementia, hospice care requirements, and other support needs. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalised care and support.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene.
Provide support for individuals with dementia, ensuring their safety and comfort.
Manage behaviours effectively using appropriate behaviour management techniques.
Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety of both the client and yourself.
Administer medication as prescribed, following all safety protocols.
Provide first aid when required, maintaining a safe environment for clients.
Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Maintain accurate records of client progress and any changes in condition.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
Knowledge of dementia care practices is highly desirable.
Experience in hospice care is an advantage.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others.
Certification in first aid is beneficial; willingness to obtain if not already certified.
Ability to lift heavy objects safely and effectively as part of your duties.
