What we are looking for:
The role of Marketing & Events Assistant is to assist the Head of Marketing and Communications in implementing the marketing and communications agenda for the Company in accordance with the overall business strategy.
The mandate for the Marketing & Events Assistant includes marketing, digital marketing, branding, advertising, filming, photoshoots, partnerships, sponsorship and events, whilst also working closely with the wider Marketing and Commercial teams to market the Airport brand.
The Marketing & Events Assistant is responsible for ensuring the marketing and communications activity is implemented with a strong focus on promoting the brand in the B2C luxury lifestyle space as well as the CSR credentials of the Group.
Looking across Farnborough Airport, Aviator and the Swan, the role will have an awareness of the Group’s combined presence and reputation and work with the wider team to demonstrably improve this.
Role Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include:
- To implement the Marketing activity for the Company including includes marketing, digital marketing, branding, advertising, filming, photoshoots, partnerships, sponsorship and events.
- Understand the importance of visual storytelling through engaging content.
- Produce compelling, cutting-edge photo and video content that will attract maximum interest and increase engagement across audiences across a range of communication channels, for both internal and external consumption, ensuring our visual narrative supports and enhances our business offering and delivers our messages effectively.
- Regularly create content, including the use of creative copywriting, for the Airport’s Our World website journal and social media channels.
- Be aware of new channels of communication such as digital marketing and influencer outreach and how these can be incorporated into the marketing mix.
- Work closely with the Marketing team, to deliver the marketing requirements of key initiatives, alongside day-to-day support.
- Work with the wider Marketing team on creating and posting content and updating the company’s website, social media platforms and internal communications platform, FABNET,
- Assist the Marketing team with the organisation of all commercial filming, photoshoot and event opportunities from enquiry to delivery, including support with daytime, evening and out of hours recces and shoots.
- Support the Marketing team in helping to organise the company’s calendar of internal and external events including, the staff summer event, the annual CEO event, the staff Christmas event, the Airport’s Airshow chalet and other Marketing and Media events.
- Monitor and manage the company’s press cuttings, including monthly reporting on press coverage statistics.
- Manage the day-to-day reporting of Marketing statistics including Google Analytics, social media and FABNET.
- Assist the Marketing and Commercial teams in organising the Airport’s presence at and attending external industry events and exhibitions, including the gathering and transport of collateral.
- Maintain marketing collateral and gift stock including reordering and storing.
- Assist the Marketing and Commercial teams in responding to enquiries.
- Manage the Unity office including, but not limited to, the catering of meetings and events.
- Providing general administrative support to the Marketing and Commercial teams.
- Be familiar with the Group’s GDPR position with regards to compliance and best practice how this impacts the Marketing team and wider business.

- Support the team with adhoc activities/tasks as reasonably requested.
About you: Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- Evidence of Right to Work in the UK.
- Full 5-year employment/educational history required (with no unaccounted-for gaps).
- Able to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check (CRC) certificate to the required security clearance level for this role.
- Hold a full valid UK Driving License or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge and passion for content creation.
- A strong visual eye for photography and visual storytelling, with the ability to create content that supports brand positioning.
- Strong creative skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Solid understanding of social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.
- Up to date with popular social media and digital trends.
- Ability to create relevant content in different formats e.g., video, photo, graphics etc across all social platforms.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work to brand guidelines.
- Ability to work to deadlines and digest constructive criticism.
- Strong communication skills.
Desirable:
- · Experience in photography and videography
- · Experience in graphic design
- · Ability to edit photos and videos to a consistently high level.
- · Proficient in creative packages such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere Pro or similar.
- · Previous experience working with websites and Google Analytics
- · Previous marketing and communications experience, ideally gained in the luxury lifestyle, hospitality or aviation sectors.
- · Relevant qualifications in either marketing or communications.
