Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of food safety. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant café environment, supporting daily operations and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. The position is paid and suitable for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages, including coffee, tea, and light snacks, adhering to quality standards.
Operate coffee machines and other café equipment safely and efficiently.
Take orders from customers accurately and process payments using the POS system.
Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen spaces, following food safety protocols.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service throughout shifts.
Provide friendly assistance to customers, answering questions about menu items and dietary options.
Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or salads when required.
Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service delivery.

Qualifications

Previous barista experience or familiarity with serving in a café environment is desirable.
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is essential.
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently during peak hours.
Excellent communication skills to interact positively with customers and team members.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
