Hours: Part-year role, 25 hours per-week (regular core hours during school term time).
Pay: £15.50 per hour basic rate

Woodlands Community Childcare is a new daycare of children service committed to providing safe, nurturing, high-quality wraparound care for children of Woodlands Primary School with a Breakfast Club, After School Club and covering selected school holiday periods.
Our aim is to create a warm, welcoming and play-focused environment where children feel safe, valued and included. We want children to experience meaningful indoor and outdoor play opportunities helping them develop and thrive.
We are looking to recruit a caring, reliable and reflective Childcare Practitioner to join us in a key development post.
About the role
This is a practitioner role with a focus on professional growth. The successful candidate will demonstrate eagerness for professional development in line with SSSC Codes of Practice, whilst we provide meaningful opportunities for professional development.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Manager to support high-quality play and care within a small team. The Manager will retain responsibility for regulatory planning, policies, Care Inspectorate and SSSC requirements, quality assurance and overall service development. However, this post provides the opportunity to develop the skills required to pursue future leadership positions in a daycare of children/ wider childcare setting through the opportunity to gain essential leadership qualifications in Childhood Practice.
Main duties and responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:
- Providing high quality frontline care to children using the service
- Upholding consistently the highest standards of service, ensuring children feel safe, supported, included, valued and heard.
- Developing and maintaining a warm, welcoming and encouraging play environment (indoors and outdoors), whilst managing the transitions of the school day smoothly with consistency
- Building positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Contributing ideas for the service, including play opportunities and improvements
- working within agreed policies and guidance, whilst following safeguarding, health and safety, positive behaviour policies and confidentiality procedures
- Engage with meaningful ongoing professional development through supervision, continuous training, reflection, recording and self-evaluation
About you
We are looking for someone who is:

Experience in childcare, playwork, education, youth work, ASN support or a similar setting would be helpful. However, values, attitude and development potential are important attributes.
Qualifications and registration
Applicants should hold, or be willing to work toward, an appropriate qualification for working in school-age childcare. The successful candidate must be willing and eligible to register with the Scottish Social Services Council. Under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, it is a legal requirement for the successful candidate to be a member of the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme before commencement of duties.
Pay and working pattern
The basic rate of pay is £15.50 per hour.
This is a part-year role with 25 regular core hours during school term time (39 weeks - including Angus Council inservice days).
07:30 - 09:15 (Breakfast Club operates between 07:45 - 09:00)
15:15 - 18:15 (After School Club operates between 15:20 - 18:00)
Limited additional School Holiday Club hours may be offered by agreement, depending on service demand.
