Full job description

Experienced Bar Person – The Gordon Arms - All year round.

We’re looking for a friendly and reliable experienced Bar Person to join our welcoming team at The Gordon Arms. You will be working independently on shifts. We are a small pub/cafe in a small village in the Scottish Borders.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy environment, and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.

Hours

Saturday / Sunday evenings
Opportunity to pick up additional weekday shifts when available
Flexible hours may be available to cover holidays and busy periods

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is:

Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
Reliable with a positive, can-do attitude
Organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable working independently and sometimes as well as part of a team during events.

Responsibilities

Greeting customers and taking orders
Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
Creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for guests
Interacting with customers and providing excellent service
Ensuring the bar area is clean, tidy, and well stocked
Processing payments and handling the cash register
Cashing up and closing down at the end of the evening
Following all health and safety procedures
