About Towy Castle
Towy Castle is a beautiful residential care home providing high-quality residential and dementia care in a friendly and supportive environment.
As part of our dedicated night team, you'll help ensure our residents remain safe, comfortable and well cared for throughout the night while supporting and leading your colleagues.
About the Role
As the senior person on duty overnight, you'll lead the night team, ensuring the home runs safely and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of care.
Working alongside a team of four night staff, you'll provide leadership, support and guidance while continuing to deliver excellent person-centred care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting the night team.
- Ensuring residents receive safe, compassionate, person-centred care.
- Supporting with personal care, repositioning and continence care where required.
- Administering medication safely.
- Completing medication audits and changeovers.
- Carrying out regular welfare and safety checks.
- Maintaining accurate records and handovers.
- Responding confidently to emergencies and unexpected situations.
- Liaising with healthcare professionals and the Out of Hours team when required.
- Supporting with cleaning, laundry and general overnight duties.
- Promoting a positive, safe and well-organised working environment.
What We're Looking For
✔ Previous experience working within a residential care setting.
✔ Experience leading or supervising a care team.
✔ Confident making decisions independently.
✔ Medication administration experience.
✔ Excellent communication and leadership skills.
✔ A caring, reliable and professional approach.
✔ Able to commit to the advertised night rota.
Desirable
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
- Experience supporting older people and those living with dementia.
This rota includes weekends and bank holidays, and forms part of your contracted hours.
Location
Towy Castle Care Home is located near Carmarthen and is easily commutable from Llanelli, Llandeilo, Ammanford, Cross Hands, Kidwelly, St Clears, Whitland and the surrounding areas.
Due to the rural location of the home and limited public transport during night-time hours, applicants must be able to travel reliably to and from work.

- Please note: Towy Castle Care Home is in a rural location with limited public transport, particularly during night-time hours. If you do not drive, please ensure you have checked that you can reliably travel to and from the home for all shifts. Are you able to do this?
