Job Overview

The Area Team Leader is a pivotal role in the operations team at Amicus. It carries the responsibility to deliver an excellent service for residents and meet KPIs whilst demonstrating the Amicus values and behaviours.

The post holder will manage up to five Housing Support Officers, relevant budgets and other resources to achieve this. Liaison with Local Authorities, landlords, neighbours in the community and other teams within Amicus is key to success.

Amicus Trust are here for individuals between the ages of 18 – 65 who are rough sleeping, considered homeless or at risk of homelessness. Individuals may or may not have a range of complex needs including mental health issues, ex-offending, alcohol dependency or substance misuse. We provide supported housing alongside mental health support, structured supporting meetings and life-skills development.

What we offer:

Salary; £33,118.47 per annum.
Hours; full-time 37, per week Monday to Friday, plus on-call rota
Holiday; 25 days plus 8 bank holidays
Employee Assistance Programme, virtual GP service and in-house mental health support

What you will do in the role of Area Team Leader:

Interviewing potential residents, assessing their needs and suitability for accommodation.
Assessing risks and ensuring resident accommodation is safe and secure.
Developing and maintaining working relationships with residents whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
Conducting weekly key works (support meetings) with residents.
Advising residents on issues such as benefits and access to healthcare.
Assisting with housing applications and benefit applications.
Communicate with the team and ensure that all organisational policies are followed and legal requirements are met.

What you will need:

Experience working operationally with adults who have complex needs or are vulnerable
A thorough knowledge of working with residents who have drug or alcohol issues
The ability to deal with conflict situations and skilled in de-escalation
Record keeping and managing a team of individuals working autonomously, including organising rotas, shifts, managing performance issues and ensuring health and safety and wellbeing of staff
Clear communication skills
Full driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points issued or pending
A flexible approach to work and commitment to on-call duties

Head Office: 104 Midland Road, Bedford MK40 1QE. This role requires regular travel to provide support across all Amicus Trust accommodations in Leicester.
