We're looking for enthusiastic Nursery Practitioners to join our team of bank staff at Earl Shilton Day Nursery to help us bring the DEN's values to life in this setting.

Role Purpose

As a Nursery Practitioner, you’ll play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education for all children, ensuring they are safe, happy, and thriving every day. You’ll support children’s learning and development through play, creativity, and exploration — helping them build confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

You’ll also work closely with your team to deliver our bespoke curriculum and build strong, positive relationships with parents and families.

Key Responsibilities

· Deliver high-quality early years education in line with the EYFS framework and The DEN’s values.

· Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that inspire curiosity and creativity.

· Observe, assess, and record children’s development to inform next steps in learning.

· Support children’s individual needs, ensuring inclusion and equality at all times.

Health, Safety & Wellbeing

· Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment indoors and outdoors.

· Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and hygiene procedures consistently.

· Promote positive behaviour, kindness, and respect among children.

· Ensure children’s emotional and physical wellbeing is always prioritised.

Teamwork & Collaboration

· Work closely with colleagues to maintain a positive, supportive team culture.

· Contribute ideas and feedback to help continuously improve the nursery.

· Communicate effectively with team members, managers, and parents.

· Support colleagues across rooms when needed, maintaining flexibility and teamwork.

Parent Partnership & Communication

· Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and carers.

· Provide updates on children’s progress, wellbeing, and daily experiences.

Skills & Experience - Essential

· Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare (or equivalent).

· Genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.

· Good understanding of the EYFS and child development.

· Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

· Commitment to providing a safe, caring, and inspiring learning environment.

· Reliable, flexible, and proactive.

· Creative and able to use initiative in play and learning.
