The Thames Valley Forensic Mental Health Service are looking to recruit a Lead Physical Fitness Practitioner to provide leadership across our Low and Medium Secure Forensic Service provision across Oxford and Buckinghamshire.

To take a leading role in supporting a team of Physical Fitness Practitioner across the Forensic Service, co-ordinating the development of provision of health and fitness related interventions across the inpatient service.
To provide evidence based therapeutic physical fitness interventions appropriate to patient need within the Forensic service.
Close working alongside the Forensic Occupational Therapy Service.
To represent the Physical Fitness Practitioner role/team at relevant Forensic Directorate meetings.
To be the key point of contact for CIMSPA (Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity).
Implement audits to ensure high standards of service provision.
To oversee the routine servicing of gym equipment annually.

To design, manage and implement physical fitness, health & wellbeing opportunities for Patients in the Forensic Service. To evaluate the evidence based physical fitness programs to improve wellbeing while ensuring safety and professional standards are being adhered to among the Physical Fitness Practitioner staff. The role involves leadership responsibilities as well as service development opportunities. The role will be responsible for co-ordinating health promotion events across the Forensic Service, supporting staff in their professional development as well as involvement within research and Quality Improvement projects.
