We are seeking a talented and passionate Commis Chef to join our new opening, The Horses!

Opening in August 2026, The Horses will bring a fresh hospitality offering to Farringdon. Set within a building that has long been part of the local community, the venue will combine a pub atmosphere with exceptional dining, quality drinks, and attentive service across multiple floors.

We are building a team that prides itself on delivering authentic hospitality, who are collaborative and create a genuinely warm, welcoming environment for every guest. This is an opportunity to join a new opening and help shape the venue from day one, becoming part of a business that values quality, teamwork, and a shared passion for great service.

Salary – £12.71 per hour + service charge

What you'll be doing as a Commis Chef:

Support the kitchen team with food preparation and service across various sections.
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and hygiene at all times.
Learn and develop your culinary skills under the guidance of senior chefs.
Assist with stock rotation, storage, and ensuring ingredients are handled correctly.
Work efficiently during busy service periods, contributing to a smooth-running kitchen operation.
Follow all health and safety procedures and food safety regulations.
Collaborate with the wider kitchen team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

About you, our new Commis Chef:

A positive attitude and genuine passion for food and hospitality.
Eagerness to learn, develop new skills, and progress within a professional kitchen environment.
Strong work ethic and the ability to work well as part of a team.
Good communication skills and a willingness to take direction from senior chefs.
Ability to remain organised and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential – we value attitude, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn.
