Overview
We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester to join our existing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with legal requirements and industry standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for automotive technology and a keen eye for detail to develop their career within a professional environment. The position is paid and suitable for those looking to utilise and expand their mechanical knowledge.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough MOT tests on a variety of vehicle makes and models, ensuring compliance with current legislation.
Inspect vehicle components such as brakes, tyres, lights, suspension, and exhaust systems.
Accurately record inspection results and communicate findings clearly to customers or management.
Identify potential safety issues and advise on necessary repairs or maintenance.
Maintain the MOT bay in a clean, organised, and safe condition at all times.
Assist with general vehicle maintenance tasks as required, including minor repairs using hand tools and power tools.
Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly before use.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar automotive inspection role.
Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicles or parts during inspections or repairs.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
Valid MOT Testing licence recognised by the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency).
Good communication skills to explain technical information clearly to customers.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. This role provides an engaging environment for automotive professionals eager to contribute their expertise while ensuring the safety standards of vehicles on the road are upheld.
