Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team at Highclere Castle.

Highclere Castle is a well known visitor attraction being the location for the very popular Downton Abbey TV series. We have a long heritage of entertaining and fine dining and the Pastry Chef is a key part of our ability to provide quality meals for both out visitors and fine dining events.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and baking, with a keen eye for detail and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft exquisite pastries, desserts, and baked goods in a professional kitchen environment, contributing to the overall dining experience of our establishment.

● Prepare a wide variety products while ensuring the highest quality, taste, and aesthetic presentation

● Take full charge of the pastry section's daily operations

● Create and develop seasonal menus for afternoon tea, private tours and events alongside the Head Chef

● Assist and support other kitchen staff when necessary

● Follow the kitchen food hygiene, health and safety, and chemical handling (COSHH) regulations at all times.

Duties

Prepare and produce a variety of high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to recipes and specifications
Assist in menu development and innovate new pastry creations to delight guests
Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to at all times
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry section, including equipment and work areas
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely delivery of orders
● Proven experience as a Pastry chef in a high volume, high end environment.

● Strong technical knowledge.

● Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to consistency.

● Ability to work cleanly, efficiently, and calmly under pressure.

Experience

Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role within a professional kitchen environment
Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, baking, and presentation
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in a culinary setting
Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality environment is highly desirable
Formal culinary training or relevant qualifications in patisserie or baking are preferred
Familiarity with food production processes, kitchen equipment, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation

Pay: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
