Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activities Director to join our team at an a residential home. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organising, and implementing engaging activities that enhance the quality of life for our residents. This role is crucial in fostering a vibrant community atmosphere and ensuring that all residents receive the care and attention they deserve.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive activities programme tailored to the interests and needs of residents, including those with dementia and other cognitive impairments.
Coordinate and oversee daily activities, ensuring that they are engaging, safe, and accessible for all residents.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to encourage participation in activities and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Collaborate with care staff to integrate activities into the overall care plan for each resident, ensuring personalised engagement.
Organise special events, outings, and celebrations that promote social interaction and community involvement.
Maintain accurate records of participation in activities and assess the effectiveness of programmes regularly.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a similar role within senior care, assisted living, or nursing home settings is preferred but not essential.
Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with residents of varying abilities and backgrounds.
A genuine passion for providing care and enhancing the lives of seniors through meaningful activities.
Knowledge of dementia care practices is highly desirable.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Creative thinking skills to develop innovative programmes that cater to diverse interests.
