Job Title - Catering Assistant

Division - The Cotton Café

Location - Bygone Times Trading Ltd

Reporting to - Catering Manager

Hours - 35

Vacancy 1 - 09.00-16.30 - Tuesday to Saturday (fixed days)

Permanent / Temporary / Fixed Term - Permanent

Salary - National Minimum Wage

Role Overview

We are Bygone Times, the UK’s largest antiques and collectables centre with over 500 stalls across six floors, including our successful café. We are 85,000 sq. ft of unique shopping which is open 7 days a week from 09.30 am – 5:00 pm and sit in the village of Eccleston, Chorley and have been open to the public for over 35 years. Our ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced food outlet, ideally in a small to medium catering related environment. You must have strong customer experience and communication skills where you will embed a customer obsessed culture as part of a team whilst maintaining the highest level of Health and Safety and food hygiene. You will ensure to deliver service to the highest of standards. Ultimately, you’re driven by the desire to be part of a team leading to maximum productivity and efficiency whilst continuously growing revenue

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Welcome and greet customers in a polite and professional way
Consistently representing the business is a positive way
Follow all company policies and procedures
Process transactions through the till system accurately.
Always adhere to Health & Hygiene protocols
Deliver quality service through set menus, provided by the Catering manager
Minimise and report stock wastage accurately and in a timely manner

Qualifications & Experience Required

Previous experience in a catering environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with customers and staff.
Numerate with good IT skills, detail conscious and well-organised.
Customer service focused, solution based and uses initiative
Friendly, helpful, confident, and engaging personality

Pay: £8.00-£12.71 per hour
