VACANCY: Level 2 Weld Inspector

SHIFT : Friday - Sunday 6am - 6pm.

PAY: £23.50 per hour.

LOCATION: Rotherham, S60 (Close to Meadowhall, Sheffield)

ABOUT US:

MTL Advanced is hiring due to a major expansion, marked by the opening of our brand-new manufacturing facility, based in Rotherham just 5 minutes away from Meadowhall shopping centre.

MTL Advanced is operating from an impressive 390,000 sq. feet facility. We are a leading engineering and manufacturing company committed to innovation, quality and growth. As we continue to scale our capabilities, we are expanding our team and inviting skilled individuals to join us on our journey.

We have invested in an extensive range of technology and equipment and provide services to a range of OEM’s from leading industries including defence, security, construction, quarrying, recycling and rail.

Our inhouse capabilities include, large format Laser Cutting and Press Braking, CNC Precision Machining, Fabrication & Welding, Shot Blasting, Painting and final Assembly.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Monitor fabricators Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities
Review approved Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS
Review Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)
Review Welders Performance Qualifications records (WPQ)
Provide Independent Welding and Fabrication support and advice
Review of Fabrication Inspection and Test Plans and final fabrication pack
Visual inspections of weld set up/weld quality, completion of dimensional inspections as required
Review and endorse NDT reports in a timely manner
Prescribe and monitor weld repairs to code
Verify the application of NDT methods for inspection activities
Maintain a contemporaneous record of daily activities

ABOUT YOU:

PCN Welding Inspector Level 2 or equivalent is essential.
PCN Level 2 MPI/DPI is preferred
Previous experience of Welding Inspection Site/Field and Vendor Inspection Fabrication Quality Plans is essential
Ability to generate a team approach to problem solving and a good communicator, both written and verbal is essential
Computer literate is essential
Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office is essential
