Join our warm and welcoming team at The Spa Hotel

We’re looking for a reliable, friendly, and proactive Night Porter to join our busy and supportive team. This is a varied and hands-on role where no two shifts are the same—perfect for someone who enjoys working independently while being part of a wider team.

About the Role

As a Night Porter, you’ll be the face of the hotel overnight—ensuring our guests feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for from arrival to departure. From welcoming late arrivals to preparing our event spaces for the next day, you’ll play a vital role in keeping the hotel running smoothly behind the scenes.

This is a physically active role, particularly with our 7 busy function suites, which you’ll help reset and prepare to our high standards.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver a warm, friendly welcome to late-arriving guests and assist with check-ins
Support guests with luggage and respond promptly to requests throughout the night
Prepare, cook, and serve food and drinks from our night menu
Set up and reset event spaces to exact specifications and within deadlines
Operate the switchboard efficiently, including handling calls and messages
Carry out wake-up calls as requested
Process guest payments, print bills, and complete check-outs
Handle walk-in bookings, allocate rooms, and manage payments
Ensure all public areas are clean, tidy, and well presented
Complete security, fire, and health & safety checks accurately each shift
Manage and balance the night porter float responsibly
Work closely with all departments to maintain seamless service

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

A team player with excellent communication skills
Calm under pressure and able to meet deadlines
Highly organised with a strong attention to detail
Computer literate (knowledge of Rezlynx and Microsoft Office is an advantage)
Self-motivated, reliable, and committed to high standards
Passionate about delivering outstanding customer service

Experience in hospitality or night work is desirable—but not essential. A great attitude and willingness to learn are what matter most.
