Salary Banding: £40,000 – £45,000 basic per annum (Depending on experience)
On-Target Earnings (OTE): £48,000 – £55,000 per annum (Including performance-related growth bonuses)
On-Call Requirement: Part of a 1-in-3 week roster (5:00 PM – 8:00 AM, 7 days a week) once introduced
On-Call Allowance: £100 per week when on-call (Paid in addition to basic salary)

Job Purpose
LDA Support Ltd. are recruiting a Business Manager to oversee the non-clinical, commercial, and operational infrastructure of the agency. The role focuses on driving operational efficiency, managing staff resources, and establishing robust corporate governance. Because this position carries a heavy focus on sales, commercial growth, and business development, the successful candidate must possess high self-confidence and exceptional interpersonal skills. As the agency does not yet have a Registered Manager, this position will initially lead the setup of operational workflows, digital infrastructure, and regulatory readiness alongside the Director to prepare the business for registration and future clinical leadership. Budget management and final financial approvals remain with the Director/Owner, but the Business Manager holds full operational responsibility for creating, verifying, and signing off the final payroll run with the external provider.
Performance & Commission Structure
We reward growth. You will earn an uncapped commission for scaling our agency’s active hours, calculated on a 3-month rolling average to protect against natural client attrition.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth & Business Development
- Expand hours: Proactively identify and secure new private-pay clients and local authority contracts to expand service hours.
- Build stakeholder partnerships: Nurture strong relationships with integrated Care boards (ICBs), local authorities, and NHS commissioners through confident networking.
- Execute marketing strategies: Lead local marketing, networking, and digital campaigns to elevate brand awareness and support staff recruitment.
- Manage tender bids: Lead the preparation, drafting, and submission of high-quality commercial bids and procurement proposals.
Payroll Management & Operational Oversight
- Oversight of payroll reports: Oversee the compilation of payroll reports, ensuring reconciled shift data from the scheduling system is accurately built into comprehensive monthly payroll reports.
- Liaise with payroll providers: Securely transfer accurate payroll data reports to the agency's external payroll bureau.
- Sign off payroll: Audit, verify, and formally authorise the final payroll run directly with the external provider to ensure accurate staff payments.
- Utilize data analytics: Analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) through CRM and digital platforms to improve operational efficiency.
Operational Infrastructure & Team Management
- Line manage key roles: Provide direct leadership, support, and performance management to the Bank Team Manager, the Scheduling Coordinator and all other office-based staff.
- Oversee shift reconciliation: Supervise the Scheduling Coordinator to ensure all hours, staff attendance, and shift variations are accurately reconciled in a timely manner.
- Collaborate on staffing levels: Work with our external HR partner to ensure oversight of sufficient staffing levels and be the main point of contact for HR business issues.
- Manage digital infrastructure: Maintain information governance, GDPR frameworks, and scheduling software systems.
Out-of-Hours On-Call Function (Upon Introduction)
- Participate in on-call rotation: Join the emergency on-call roster, operating on a 1-week-in-3 rotation pattern alongside the Bank Team Manager and the Scheduling Coordinator and provide cover for annual leave and sickness as needed.
- Manage emergency cover: Answer telephone calls between 5:00 PM and 8:00 AM across a 7-day period to coordinate emergency shift cover.
- Maintain phone availability: Remain fully contactable and responsive by phone during on-call weeks, utilizing company-provided equipment (no requirement to physically attend services).
General Office Management
- Maintain daily office operations: Oversee the smooth running of the Alcester headquarters, acting as the primary point of contact for premises queries.
- Manage office suppliers: Supervise contracts for office utilities, IT systems, phone lines, and general business software.
- Coordinate facility safety: Manage workplace health and safety risk assessments, fire safety checks, and first aid provisions.
- Procure office stock: Oversee the inventory and ordering of office equipment, stationery, and non-clinical supplies.
- Support visitor logistics: Ensure a professional environment for all incoming clients, stakeholders, and prospective staff members.
Compliance & Registration Readiness
- Build regulatory frameworks: Establish robust back-office evidence, files, and tracking systems required to meet future Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.
- Oversee non-clinical risk: Manage organizational risk registers, complaints procedures, and non-clinical incident investigations.
- Support clinical onboarding: Assist the Director in preparing the business infrastructure for the future recruitment and onboarding of a Registered Manager.
Person Specification
Education & Qualifications
- Essential: Educated to degree level or holds equivalent senior business management experience.
- Desirable: CMI/ILM Level 5 or above or equivalent.
Experience
- Industry Track Record: 2 – 5 years of management experience within a healthcare, domiciliary care, social care environment or an agency.
- Commercial success: Proven experience writing successful tenders and managing commercial contracts.
- Office & facilities coordination: Experience running a busy corporate office, handling facilities management, and dealing with external software/utility suppliers.
- Payroll & data control: Experience auditing workforce hours, generating corporate payroll reports, and signing off data with third-party providers.
- Team leadership: Experience line-managing office and operational teams, specifically overseeing scheduling or bank staff structures.
