Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves supporting pharmacists in dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of the pharmacy. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and a compassionate approach to patient interactions. Previous pharmacy experience and knowledge of medication administration are required. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career within a professional healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Assist pharmacists with dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
Prepare and package prescriptions in accordance with legal and safety standards
Maintain accurate records of dispensed medications and patient information
Provide guidance to patients on medication usage, storage, and potential side effects
Support inventory management by ordering, receiving, and organising stock supplies
Ensure the pharmacy environment remains clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
Deliver exceptional patient care by answering queries and offering support in a professional manner

Expectations

Previous experience as a pharmacy dispenser or in a similar role
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy operations
Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and a caring attitude towards patients
Ability to work effectively within a team environment
A recognised qualification in pharmacy assistance or related field is advantageous
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to legal standards in healthcare practice
