Job Overview

We’re looking for a friendly and reliable Barista & Front of House Assistant to join our busy sandwich shop. We serve fresh baguettes, baked poatoes, paninis & sandwiches alongside iced drinks, matcha, and quality coffees.

This role involves delivering exceptional customer service. Barista and customer service experience is essential.

Responsibilities:

Preparing sandwiches and drinks (coffee, matcha, iced beverages)
Serving customers and handling orders
Maintaining a clean, hygenic and organised workspace

Duties in detail:

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including speciality coffees and teas, ensuring consistency and quality.
Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing friendly and attentive service.
Handle cash transactions and operate the till with precision.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the front of house area, counters and display cases.
Ensure compliance with food safety standards and health regulations at all times.
Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks as required.
Restock supplies and ingredients to ensure smooth daily operations.
Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly without compromising quality.
Uphold a positive attitude and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere for both customers and colleagues.

Requirements

Previous experience as a barista or in a customer-facing food service role is essential.
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is desirable.
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities to prioritise tasks efficiently.
Ability to work well under pressure during busy periods while maintaining attention to detail.
Friendly demeanour with excellent communication skills to engage with customers professionally.
Ability to stand for extended periods
