Full job description

We are looking for a Mid-level Creative Concept Designer to create highly creative retail furniture solutions that are innovative, practical and suitable for manufacture. The successful candidate should be passionate and take pride in creating unique, attention-grabbing store and retail display designs that allow products and stores to stand apart from competitors.

Understanding the customers’ brand is key as is exceeding their expectations and delivering a wow experience and unique customer touch points.

Candidates will have well-developed creative and technical understanding of manufacturing, teamed with commercial awareness. Working with internal and external customers from initial design brief through to product launch you will be based within the Design Studio and will be working alongside a team of designers reporting into the Creative Manager.

Please note, this is not a graphic design role, it is for concept design of 3D retail furniture and POS/POP displays.

Primary responsibilities:

Able to assimilate customer brand DNA and ensure it forms part of the design response, embodying the core values and principles of the brand.
Able to interpret campaign guidelines, brand requirements, overall vision and project briefs.
Designing creative solutions for retailers and brands using SolidWorks, Photoview 360, SolidWorks Visualize and Adobe CC.
Creation of strong creative concepts, both to the specified requirements and to challenge the brief and push boundaries.
Preparation of presentations of responses to brief, and able to deliver these both internally and at customer meetings.
Ability to understand route to manufacture and ease of bringing ideas to fruition.
Liaising with the Engineering, Estimating and Prototyping departments and briefing concepts to these teams for engineering, pricing and manufacture of samples.
Keeping abreast of new technology, software and materials.
Conscientious of green and sustainability goals, proactively suggesting ideas to meet increasing customer scrutiny on environmental suitability.
To be responsible and actively looking at ways to improve all aspects of design and being proactive towards your own personal development.

Additional Skills

Ability to hand sketch.
Knowledge of materials and manufacturing techniques.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and time management skills.
Ability to manage a steady inflow of work and strict deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise work.

Relevant design role experience within the retail furniture / POS industry required.

Salary dependent on experience.

Pay: £28,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
