Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Financial Resilience and Welfare Rights Advisor specialising in complex mental health cases. This role involves providing expert guidance and support to individuals facing mental health challenges, helping them navigate financial systems and welfare rights to promote stability and independence. The successful candidate will play a vital part in empowering clients through personalised advice, mentoring, and advocacy, ensuring they access the benefits and resources they need. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference within a supportive team environment.

Duties

Offer tailored financial advice to clients experiencing complex mental health issues, ensuring they understand their welfare rights and entitlements.
Provide mentoring support to clients, helping them develop confidence in managing their finances and accessing available services.
Assist clients with completing applications for benefits, grants, or other financial support programmes.
Maintain accurate records of client interactions and case progress using Microsoft Office tools.
Collaborate with external organisations, healthcare providers, and support networks to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
Deliver clear, empathetic communication tailored to diverse client needs, ensuring understanding of complex information.
Organise appointments, follow-ups, and workshops aimed at improving financial resilience among clients.
Stay informed about changes in welfare legislation and mental health policies affecting client support services.

Qualifications

Proven experience in mentoring or advising within social services or mental health sectors.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and managing digital case files.
Demonstrated customer service skills with a compassionate approach towards vulnerable individuals.
Knowledge of welfare rights legislation and mental health issues is highly desirable.
Organisational skills that enable effective planning and prioritisation of tasks. This role offers the chance to contribute positively to individuals’ lives while working within a professional team committed to social justice and mental health advocacy. Pay: £31,500.00 per year
