Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Drainage Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and repairing drainage systems across various projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse infrastructure projects, ensuring efficient water management and environmental compliance. The position requires a proactive approach, technical expertise, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Duties

Conduct site assessments to determine drainage requirements and develop detailed plans.
Install, repair, and maintain drainage infrastructure using appropriate tools and techniques.
Operate power tools, hand tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively.
Perform welding and carpentry tasks as needed for structural support or modifications.
Collaborate with other construction professionals such as plumbers and civil engineers to ensure project specifications are met.
Carry out heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to facilitate installation processes.
Utilise basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and technical drawings interpretation.
Manage the assembly of drainage components and systems on-site.
Drive commercial vehicles as required for transporting materials or personnel between sites.
Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment.

Qualifications

Proven experience in drainage installation or related civil engineering roles.
Proficiency in welding, plumbing, carpentry, and the use of power tools.
Mechanical knowledge relevant to drainage systems and infrastructure components.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and interpreting technical drawings.
Experience with commercial driving is desirable but not essential.
Familiarity with assembly processes for drainage components or similar structures is advantageous.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in planning and executing tasks.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
