Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Gas Engineer/Plumber to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas and plumbing systems across various commercial and residential sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in plumbing and related trades. The position involves working with a range of tools and equipment, ensuring safety standards are met at all times. Applicants should be organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Install, service, and repair gas appliances, boilers, and plumbing systems in accordance with safety regulations and industry standards
Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and perform necessary maintenance or repairs
Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry skills to complete various tasks efficiently
Perform heavy lifting when required, ensuring proper handling of materials and equipment
Maintain accurate records of work carried out and report on any issues requiring further attention
Assist in the assembly of plumbing fixtures or mechanical components as needed
Adhere to health and safety protocols at all times during site visits and work activities
Operate commercial vehicles responsibly when travelling between sites

Experience

Proven experience as a Gas Engineer or Plumber with a solid understanding of plumbing systems, gas safety regulations, and installation procedures
Competent in using welding equipment, hand tools, power tools, and carpentry techniques
Mechanical knowledge relevant to plumbing, gas systems, and general maintenance tasks
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Experience in commercial driving is desirable but not essential
Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to installations and repairs
Familiarity with assembly processes for plumbing fixtures or mechanical components
