Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team! This role is vital in maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day office operations, and supporting our organizational goals. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive attitude, strong accounting skills, and a passion for ensuring smooth administrative processes. Bookkeeping Responsibilities

Experienced bookkeeper proficient at using Sage50
Managing and reconciling bank accounts and credit cards
Processing sales and purchase invoices, receipts, and payments
Completing sales and purchase ledger maintenance
Credit control management
Petty cash, debit/credit management and expense management
Processing and reconciling VAT returns
Organisation and filing of financial paperwork
Assisting in the updating of cash flow reports, budgets, and forecasts
Compile management accounts (mileage)
Cash flow forecasts
Paying suppliers
Liaise with accountant and preparation of annual reports
Tax returns submitted online MTD
Purchase order matching with supplier invoices
Date entry of customer and supplier invoices onto SAGE

Payroll

Processing payroll via PayCircle – cloudbased platform
Tracking employee holiday and sickness
NOW Pension fund submissions

Employee contracts
Employee training

Accreditation. Health/Safety/Risk Assessment

Ensuring all health and safety is update to date
Prepare and update customer health, safety, risk assessment, method statements
Update health and safety documentation for SafeContractor accreditation.
Distribute forms and documentation to customers

Insurance – Renewal and Accuracy

Public and product Liability Insurance
Employers Liability Insurance

VAT

VAT Reverse Charge
Construction Industry Scheme
HMRC communication and documentation

Process incoming calls for both supplier and customer

Generate monthly customer Service List and send reminders

Vans

Services and MOT
Windscreen Repairs
Fuel reports

Skills

Experience with SAGE accounting software.
Proficiency in bookkeeping, and general ledger reconciliation.
Knowledge CIS and Reverse Charge VAT
Ability to perform account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliation efficiently.
Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable processes and payroll management.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
