Registered Children's Home Manager – New 3-Bed EBD Children's Home

Location: Watford
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

An Exciting Opportunity to Build a Children's Home from the Ground Up

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Children's Home Manager to lead the launch and development of a brand-new 3-bed children's home in Watford, supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

This is a rare opportunity to establish and shape a service from day one, creating a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children can thrive and achieve positive outcomes.

You will be supported throughout the journey by a highly engaged Director, an experienced Responsible Individual, and a dedicated Recruitment Partner, providing the guidance, resources, and operational support needed to build a successful and outstanding service.

About the Role

As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the setup, registration, leadership, and ongoing management of the home. You will play a key role in creating a positive culture, recruiting a strong team, and delivering exceptional standards of care and support.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the Ofsted registration process and oversee the successful opening of the home.
Recruit, develop, and lead a skilled and motivated residential care team.
Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding requirements.
Embed a trauma-informed, therapeutic, and child-centred approach throughout the service.
Oversee the day-to-day operation and performance of the home.
Drive positive outcomes for children and young people through effective care planning and support.
Monitor quality, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage budgets, resources, staffing, and reporting requirements effectively.
Develop strong partnerships with professionals, families, and external agencies.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services (Residential Pathway), or be working towards completion.
A minimum of two years' recent management or senior leadership experience within a children's residential setting.
Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and children's residential care legislation.
Experience supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
A child-focused, values-driven approach and a passion for achieving outstanding outcomes.
