Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Chef to join our culinary team. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to develop essential skills in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will gain valuable experience in meal preparation, food safety, and restaurant operations while working alongside experienced chefs. This paid role is ideal for individuals passionate about pursuing a career in the culinary arts and eager to learn and grow in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, peeling, and measuring ingredients
Support the kitchen team in cooking and assembling dishes according to established recipes and standards
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene practices at all times
Help with organising ingredients, utensils, and equipment to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Follow instructions from senior chefs to learn various cooking techniques and presentation styles
Contribute to maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment
Support meal service by preparing ingredients or assisting with plating when required
Participate in training sessions to develop culinary skills and knowledge of food safety regulations

Qualifications

Passion for cooking and a keen interest in developing culinary skills
Basic understanding of food preparation, cooking, and food safety principles
Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential
Good organisational skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately
Ability to work efficiently under supervision in a fast-paced environment
