Head of Consultancy Operations - Primary Focus
To lead and develop the operational infrastructure that supports consultancy and audit delivery across the business, ensuring resources are effectively deployed, client commitments are met, operational performance is optimised, and the function is scalable to support future growth.
Core Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Lead the Consultancy Operations function and take accountability for departmental performance.
- Make operational decisions independently and provide recommendations to the Executive Team.
- Identify operational risks and implement corrective actions.
- Support business growth through effective operational planning and scalability.
- Develop and deliver departmental objectives aligned to business strategy.
Resource Planning & Allocation
- Maintain oversight of all audit and consultancy allocation activities.
- Ensure effective deployment of consultants and auditors to maximise utilisation whilst maintaining service quality.
- Monitor future demand, resource requirements and capacity constraints.
- Support workforce planning activities in conjunction with Service Delivery and HR.
- Ensure allocation processes remain efficient, consistent and commercially effective.
Capacity Planning & Operational Performance
- Develop and maintain forecasting models to support business planning.
- Monitor utilisation, availability and delivery performance.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Provide reporting and management information to support decision making.
- Ensure service delivery commitments and SLA requirements are met.
Client Mobilisation & Operational Readiness
- Lead the operational implementation of new client contracts and service expansions.
- Coordinate internal handovers from Sales and Client Services into delivery.
- Ensure resource plans, scheduling requirements and delivery processes are established prior to service commencement.
- Support operational readiness for growth, new services and new territories.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop the Consultancy Operations team.
- Set objectives, manage performance and support development.
- Foster strong collaboration across Client Services, Service Delivery and Commercial functions.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience managing and developing a team.
- Experience leading operational functions or departments.
- Demonstrable experience of workforce planning, resource forecasting and capacity management.
- Experience developing and implementing operational processes and service improvements.
- Experience analysing operational performance and producing management information to support business decision-making.
- Experience managing competing priorities across multiple workstreams.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of operational performance metrics.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
Highly Desirable
- Experience managing field-based, remote or geographically dispersed teams.
- Experience within consultancy, professional services, facilities management, compliance, logistics or service delivery environments.
- Experience of capacity planning, forecasting and mobilisation activities.
- Understanding of SLA-driven service delivery models.
Full time appointment - Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm
