Full job description

Job Summary

Embark on an exciting journey as a Trainee Insurance Underwriter, where you will develop foundational skills in assessing insurance risks and supporting the underwriting process within a dynamic financial services environment.

Initially part-time this role may suit a masters business student looking to work part-time initially and full time from January 2027, once qualified.

This paid training role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in risk analysis, and negotiation strategies, all while working closely with seasoned insurance professionals. Your proactive attitude and analytical mindset will help you grow into a vital contributor to our team’s success, ensuring we deliver tailored insurance solutions that meet client needs while managing risk effectively. The company will assist the right candidate to progress with industry related qualifications.

Duties

Training and working towards a full time career, sponsored if required.
Support senior colleagues in conducting quantitative analysis to assess potential liabilities and profitability.
Contribute to the negotiation process by preparing reports and recommendations for policy terms and conditions.
Maintain accurate records and produce reports. Use of systems/CRM daily.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
Assisting in business development which may require travel

Qualifications

Strong foundation in math, accounting, or banking principles with a keen interest in financial services.
Excellent communication skills for effective negotiation and collaboration within teams.
Basic understanding of insurance concepts, underwriting processes, or related fields is a plus but not required; eagerness to learn is essential.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions under supervision.

Pay: £17.00 per hour
