Role Purpose
The Planning & Scheduling person is a critical operational role within Trizo Limited, responsible for ensuring the efficient planning, scheduling, coordination, and control of all production activities across the business.
This role acts as the central communication and control point between Sales, Customer Relationship Management, Procurement, Stores, Engineering, SMT, Through-Hole, Inspection, Test, and Dispatch to ensure customer orders are delivered on time, efficiently, and profitably.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating realistic production schedules, identifying capacity constraints, managing priorities, coordinating materials availability, and driving on-time delivery performance throughout the factory.
This role is absolutely pivotal to supporting Trizo’s growth strategy ensuring operational structure, communication, and manufacturing control systems are scalable, professional, and aligned to high-end UK contract electronics manufacturingstandards.

Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Create and maintain detailed daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules
- Plan and coordinate all manufacturing activities across:
- SMT
- Through-Hole
- Inspection & Rework
- Test
- Box Build
- Dispatch
- Sequence jobs efficiently to maximise factory throughput
- Balance workload across departments and production lines
- Ensure realistic scheduling based on:
- Labour availability
- Machine capacity
- Material availability
- Customer priority
- Technical constraints
- Continuously monitor production progress against schedule
- React quickly to production delays, shortages, or changes in customer demand
- Escalate risks and bottlenecks proactively to management
ERP / MRP System Management
- Operate and maintain the company ERP/MRP planning systems
- Ensure manufacturing data integrity is maintained accurately
- Generate and manage:
- Works orders
- Production travellers
- Production schedules
- Capacity reports
- Shortage reports
- Planning dashboards
- Support ongoing ERP system improvements and automation projects
- Assist in developing scalable planning systems suitable for business growth
Materials & Procurement Coordination
- Work closely with Procurement to ensure materials arrive in line with production requirements
- Monitor material shortages and communicate risks early
- Assist in prioritising critical component shortages
- Coordinate material allocations for urgent customer requirements
- Support efficient stock utilisation and inventory control
Customer & Internal Communication
- Liaise closely with:
- Sales Director
- Customer Relationship Manager
- Procurement Team
- Engineering
- Production Teams
- Operations Management
- Provide realistic and accurate delivery dates
- Communicate schedule changes clearly and professionally
- Support customer confidence through accurate operational information
- Participate in customer update meetings where required
Production Control & Performance Monitoring
- Monitor factory performance against:
- Delivery targets
- Production efficiency
- Schedule adherence
- Labour utilisation
- Machine utilisation
- Produce operational KPI reports
- Assist management in identifying operational improvement opportunities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with production meetings and daily factory reviews
- Support new product introductions (NPI) into production
- Coordinate urgent customer requirements and expedite activities
- Help identify opportunities to improve manufacturing flow
- Support AS9100 operational and traceability requirements
- Ensure planning activities support quality and process compliance
- Assist with capacity planning for future business growth
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and organisation throughout the business
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Previous experience in a production planning or scheduling role
- Experience within:
- Electronics manufacturing
- Contract electronics manufacturing (CEM)
- Engineering manufacturing
- Aerospace / technical manufacturing environments
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Strong understanding of production workflows
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving environment
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Good understanding of manufacturing lead times and constraints
Desirable
- Experience within an AS9100 or ISO-regulated environment
- Knowledge of SMT and PCB assembly processes
- Understanding of electronics manufacturing flow
- Experience with capacity planning
- Experience supporting ERP implementation projects
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement knowledge
