Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to residents in care homes and those receiving home care services. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring residents' comfort and safety, and contributing to personalised care plans. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about making a positive difference in people's lives while developing their skills within the healthcare sector.

Duties

Support residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
Assist with mobility and transfer of residents, ensuring safety at all times
Follow individualised care plans to meet the specific needs of each resident
Observe and report any changes in residents’ health or behaviour to the senior team
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems
Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and family members to ensure high-quality care
Support the organisation of activities that promote wellbeing and engagement
Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals (if qualified)
Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in line with health and safety standards

Qualifications

Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving home visits
Good command of English, both written and spoken, to communicate effectively with residents and team members
Basic IT skills for maintaining electronic care records and documentation
Excellent communication skills with a caring and empathetic approach towards residents
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for others
