About Almanax
Almanax Education is an international education consultancy with offices in the UK and the UAE. For more than 19 years, we have supported families applying to leading schools and universities in the UK, Europe, the USA, the UAE and beyond. We specialise in working with Russian-speaking families who are looking for world-class education for their children.
We are now looking for an Education Consultant & Academic Guardian to join our UK team working with private clients. This role is ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career in international education consulting, UK schools, academic guardianship and premium client service.
You do not need to arrive as a fully formed senior consultant. We are ready to train and support the right person. What matters most is your ability to learn quickly, communicate clearly, take responsibility and genuinely care about children's education.
About the role
You will work with families whose children are applying to or already studying at UK schools, including boarding schools. The role combines admissions support, academic guardianship, client communication and project coordination. You will help families understand their options, support students through important educational stages, coordinate communication with schools, and make sure deadlines, documents and next steps are properly managed.
This is not a purely administrative role. It requires judgement, empathy, structure and ownership. Families rely on us not only for information, but for calm, clear and professional guidance.
What you will do
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting families with UK school admissions and educational planning
- Helping prepare school shortlists, application timelines and next steps
- Coordinating communication between parents, students, schools, tutors and internal Almanax specialists.
- Supporting students already studying at UK boarding schools as part of our academic guardianship service.
- Monitoring academic progress, adaptation, wellbeing and any risks that need attention.
- Helping children at boarding schools adapt and realise their potential, including outside working hours (when necessary).
- Keeping accurate records of client work, deadlines, actions and follow-ups.
- Building long-term, trust-based relationships with families.
- Presenting relevant Almanax services clearly and professionally when appropriate.
- Contributing to renewals, additional services and departmental targets.
- Having difficult conversations with parents and schools, and handling emergency or unexpected situations.
What we are looking for
This is a long-term role for someone who sees themselves in education and guardianship for 5+ years. We are looking for a reliable professional who wants to grow steadily within their role.
We are looking for someone with:
- Fluent Russian and fluent English, both written and spoken (English at least C1).
- Strong written communication skills.
- Deep understanding of the UK education system (graduates of UK or European schools or universities, or parents of children studying at UK schools or universities).
- Experience in consulting, sales, premium client service, working with children or families, or related fields (school administration, admissions, tutoring coordination, hospitality, family support).
- Lived in the UK for more than 3+ years and plans to stay in the UK long-term.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Emotional maturity and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Genuine interest in children, education and family support.
- Ability to build trust with parents and students.
- A responsible, proactive and solution-oriented approach.
- Organised, responsible and results-driven mindset.
- Interest in growing into a stronger client-facing education consultant role over time.
Parents of school-aged children often do very well in this role.
Who will succeed in this role
This role will suit someone who enjoys working with people, can manage details carefully, and wants to develop real expertise in a specialist field. It is a good fit for someone who sees education consulting not as a temporary job, but as a serious career direction.
You will need to be comfortable with responsibility, deadlines, sensitive family situations and high expectations. At the same time, you will receive training, guidance and support from experienced colleagues.
What we offer
- Salary of £27,000–£32,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Transparent bonus structure: successful admissions and sales can increase earnings by 30–50%
- Remote-first work within an international company.
- Flexible schedule, taking into account clients' time zones and school deadlines.
- Training and mentorship from senior colleagues.
- Exposure to UK independent schools, boarding education and international admissions.
- A clear opportunity to grow into a more senior consultant role.
Please note: this is a remote-first role, but the candidate must be based in the UK and available for occasional offline meetings, school visits or client-related matters when needed. London is strongly preferred.
