Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role offers an opportunity to develop specialised skills in coffee preparation and food service within a dynamic environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing beverages, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a high standard of food safety. Previous experience in a similar role is essential.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing friendly and attentive service.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workspace, including cleaning equipment and work surfaces regularly.
Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the till system.
Follow food safety standards at all times to ensure the health and safety of customers and staff.
Restock supplies as needed, including ingredients, cups, lids, and utensils.
Assist with food preparation tasks when required, such as assembling snacks or light meals.
Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality.
Uphold the organisation’s standards of hygiene, safety, and customer care at all times.

Experience

Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer-facing food service role is essential.
Knowledge of food safety regulations relevant to the hospitality industry.
Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy.
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently during busy periods.
Ability to work well within a team whilst maintaining individual responsibilities. This position provides an engaging environment for those passionate about coffee culture and delivering exceptional service.
