Supported Housing Worker

Lancashire Dispersed Housing (North/Central)

Preston / Chorley office base (to be discussed at Interview)

37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, typically between 9am – 5pm)

SCP 21 – 25 (£27,261.80 - £30,308.43)

We’re looking for a compassionate, resilient Supported Housing Worker to join our Lancashire Dispersed Housing service, supporting young people to build independence, stability, and confidence for the future.

About the role

Lancashire Dispersed Housing is an OFSTED-regulated service, delivering supported accommodation across Central and North Lancashire.

You’ll work with young people aged 16–25, many with complex needs, delivering tailored support, managing tenancies, and creating safe, stable living environments. Through proactive support, advocacy, and partnership working, you’ll empower individuals to overcome challenges and move forward into independent living.

What you’ll be doing

Support & Resettlement

Deliver person-centred support to help young people build independence and life skills
Carry out needs and risk assessments and complete inductions
Develop and review individual support and independence plans
Support access to education, training, employment, health, and welfare services
Advocate for customers with external agencies (e.g. housing, DWP, health services)
Support customers to move into and sustain long-term accommodation

Housing & Property Management

Ensure safe, secure, and well-managed homes across dispersed properties
Support customers to meet tenancy/licence conditions including rent and obligations
Carry out property inspections and health & safety checks
Respond to incidents, anti-social behaviour, and emergency situations appropriately

Partnership & Advocacy

Work collaboratively with statutory and voluntary agencies
Act as a key worker, coordinating services to meet individual needs
Represent customers at appointments, hearings, or meetings where required

Safeguarding, Compliance & Administration

Maintain accurate case notes, risk assessments, and records
Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and data protection
Monitor outcomes and contribute to continuous service improvement

About You

You have the ability to act as an advocate and work in partnership with relevant agencies
You have experience supporting vulnerable individuals who may have experienced adversity or complex life circumstances
You are able to work effectively with individuals with a range of complex needs, including those who may present as challenging, and can respond to conflict situations in a calm, consistent, and professional manner
You demonstrate perseverance and resilience, with the ability to overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes
You hold (or are willing to work towards) an NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People
You hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle
