Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications, supporting patient care, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in pharmacy or healthcare to develop their skills within a professional environment committed to patient safety and quality service.

Responsibilities

Dispense prescribed medications accurately in accordance with prescriptions and pharmacy protocols
Assist pharmacists in preparing and organising medication orders for patients
Provide excellent customer service by answering patient queries and offering medication guidance where appropriate
Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and inventory levels
Support medication administration processes under supervision, ensuring adherence to safety standards
Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimise patient care and medication management

Requirements

NVQ2 dispensing qualification or equivalent
Prior experience as a pharmacy dispenser or in a similar healthcare role is highly desirable
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems
Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism when interacting with patients and colleagues
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
A recognised qualification in pharmacy services or relevant healthcare training is preferred
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to regulatory standards
