This post requires applicants to be GTCS registered.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Education Support Officer to support improvement across the secondary sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with schools, colleges and a range of partners to strengthen educational provision, promote effective practice and contribute to positive outcomes for young people.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal, presentation and organisational skills. You will be confident in building productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, supporting and influencing others through a coaching approach, and leading collaborative work that drives improvement and innovation across the education community.

Requirements:

Are highly motivated and organised to work both individually and collaboratively.
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as highly developed presentation skills.
Be comfortable and confident in developing and maintaining positive relationships with a range of stakeholders, and the ability to adopt a coaching role in relation to building the capacity of others.
Have the ability to clearly articulate your views and to lead, inspire and motivate colleagues.
Are highly committed to own and others continuing professional learning and be adept in using a range of engagement tools, including digital, to maximise engagement and participate in professional learning.

Key Tasks

Strengthen, develop and sustain effective partnerships between secondary schools and college that enhance learner pathways and outcomes.
Lead and support the ongoing development of the secondary curriculum, across BGE and Senior Phase, with a particular focus on innovative and inclusive delivery models, ensuring curriculum provision meets the needs of learners, schools and wider strategic priorities. Experience and understanding of secondary timetabling would be an important requirement of this post.
Provide guidance and support to schools in the planning and delivery of examination arrangements, acting as the key liaison with school examinations coordinators to ensure compliance, consistency and effective practice.
Coordinate and facilitate subject networks, enabling collaboration, the sharing of best practice, professional learning and continuous improvement across schools and settings.

This post is temporary until June 2028 due to service requirement.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership, the cost of which will be met by the preferred candidate.
