We are looking for a motivated and organised individual to join our Repairs and Maintenance Service within Housing. This role is central to ensuring that repairs to council homes are planned, scheduled and delivered efficiently, with residents at the heart of everything we do.

About the role

As a Planner, you will be part of a busy and dynamic team responsible for coordinating repairs across a large and diverse housing stock.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Planning and scheduling work for operatives, supervisors and contractors across multiple trades
Raising and managing work orders, ensuring all relevant information is clear and accurate
Monitoring job progress and updating systems to reflect changes and priorities
Allocating work efficiently to reduce travel time and improve productivity
Liaising with operatives, contractors and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery of repairs
Responding to queries from residents and colleagues, providing clear and timely updates
Supporting the team to manage workload pressures, including backlog reduction and urgent repairs

You will play a key role in ensuring that repairs are delivered on time, performance targets are met, and residents receive a high-quality service.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working in a fast-paced administrative or scheduling environment
Is highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities
Has strong communication skills and can work effectively with a wide range of people
Is confident using IT systems and able to complete accurate data entry
Has a strong customer focus and can handle challenging situations professionally
Works well as part of a team and contributes positively to team performance

Knowledge of social housing, repairs or the construction sector would be beneficial but is not essential.

Additional information
This role is office based, 5 days a week, 8am to 5pm.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is term-time only. For part time applicants, where your working week is less than the council’s basic 37 hour week, contracted overtime rated pay will not form part of your working hours. This is because overtime rated pay is payable for hours worked more than the council’s basic 37 hour week. Your starting salary will be pro rata based on the basic annual salary elements of pay between £27,254 & £27,694.
