Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and reliable 3.5 tonne recovery driver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a 3.5 tonne flatbed recovery vehicle to assist with vehicle recoveries. Your enthusiasm and strong communication skills will ensure efficient service delivery, exceptional customer interactions, and smooth coordination with dispatch. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced environment where your mechanical knowledge and driving expertise make a real difference every day. We offer a on call rota of nightshift callouts being paid at competitive rates.

Duties

Safely operate a 3.5 tonne flatbed recovery vehicle to assist with vehicle recoveries.
Respond promptly to recovery calls, providing professional and courteous customer service during each interaction
Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to ensure safety and operational readiness
Assist with loading, unloading, and securing vehicles or cargo in the warehouse or on-site locations
Maintain accurate logs of recoveries, deliveries, and vehicle inspections for compliance and reporting purposes
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate recovery operations and resolve issues efficiently
Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues and perform basic maintenance or report repairs as needed

Qualifications

Proven experience in commercial driving, especially with delivery or recovery vehicles
Valid UK driver’s license or equivalent certification for operating 3.5 tonne vehicles. No DD or DR codes on license due to insurance restrictions
Prior experience as a delivery driver or recovery driver is highly desirable
Strong mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues and perform simple repairs or maintenance
Experience towing trailers
Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
Experience operating flatbed trucks or similar recovery vehicles is preferred
