Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Head Chef in managing daily operations, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant hospitality environment and develop your career within the culinary industry.

This role is working 4 days out of 7.

40 Hours a week.

28 Days Holiday per year.

Having your own transport is essential as we are located in a remote part of the forest.

Duties

Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
Supervise kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management
Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of dishes
Manage food preparation activities, ensuring adherence to recipes and portion control
Maintain strict compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and minimise waste
Support in developing new recipes and innovative culinary concepts
Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times

Experience

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen setting
Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation
Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example
Solid kitchen experience across various cuisines and techniques
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hospitality environments
Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable
Familiarity with serving procedures and customer service principles within a hospitality context

This role is ideal for a dedicated culinary professional eager to take the next step in their career while contributing to a high-quality dining experience. Applicants should demonstrate leadership capabilities, a passion for food excellence, and a commitment to maintaining outstanding standards in all aspects of kitchen operations.

Pay: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
