Full job description

We are a small artisan micro bakery looking for a passionate and hands-on baker to join our team on a part-time basis. This is a unique opportunity to work closely alongside the owner in all aspects of production, creating high-quality sourdough breads, pastries, cakes, pies, and hand-laminated croissants from scratch.

Our bakery is rooted in traditional methods and slow fermentation. We use naturally fermented sourdough only — no commercial yeast — and place a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, quality ingredients, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and production of artisan baked goods including:
Sourdough breads
Hand-laminated croissants and viennoiserie
Pastries
Cakes
Savoury and sweet pies
Mix, shape, proof, and bake products using traditional sourdough methods
Hand laminate pastry and croissant doughs
Support daily prep, weighing ingredients, dough management, and baking schedules
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and organisation
Work collaboratively with the owner in a small, fast-paced environment
Contribute ideas and creativity where appropriate

About You

Passionate about artisan baking and traditional techniques
Some baking experience preferred, particularly with sourdough or pastry work
Interested in learning and developing practical bakery skills
Comfortable with early mornings and physically active work
Reliable, organised, and able to work independently as well as part of a small team
Appreciation for quality ingredients, slow fermentation, and handmade products
